FIGHT for Life, we believe healthy habits start at home. This family-focused program brings parents, guardians, and children together to learn simple, practical ways to improve their health and lower their risk of Type 2 diabetes. Through education, support, and engaging activities, families gain the knowledge, tools, and encouragement needed to make lasting lifestyle changes and build a healthier future together.
Why This Matters
- Type 2 diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in Georgia
- 17.5% of rural adults in Georgia have diabetes
- 16.3% of Black adults in Georgia are affected
- Georgia ranks 12th in the U.S. for diabetes
Who Can Participate
- Parent/Guardian (18+, lives with child, at risk or prediabetic)
- Child (ages 8–15)
