EFSP Phase 38 Application

Monies to be Awarded to Nonprofit Organizations that Administer Emergency Food and Shelter Programs in Baker,  Crisp, Dougherty, Lee,  Mitchell , Terrell &  Worth Counties

 

United Way of Southwest Georgia has been appointed administrator for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Federal Emergency Management Agency. 

Baker has been awarded $3,529 Crisp $ 11,178 Dougherty $ 36,748 Lee $4,351 Mitchell $6,892 Terrell $4,034 Worth $4,621 

Under the terms of the grant, local agencies that are chosen to receive funds must be private voluntary nonprofits, faith-based or local units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.

 

Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local organizations chosen to receive funds for mass shelter, mass feeding, other food, temporary lodging, rent/mortgage assistance and utility assistance must meet the following criteria:

  1. have non-profit status
  2. maintain an accounting system
  3. practice non-discrimination
  4. demonstrate the capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs
  5. have a voluntary board (if the agency is a private voluntary organization)

 

To apply for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds, please complete each section of application form in link below. This form must be RECEIVED by Tuesday , May 30th 2023 at 5:00 pm.  Applications received after this deadline date will not be considered for funding.
