How to Apply for Funding from United Way

The current fiscal and funding year for United Way of Southwest Georgia is July 1, 2011 -- June 30, 2012. 

To apply for funding -- to begin July 1, 2012 and continue through June 30, 2013 -- the funding cycle process will begin December 1, 2011. 

Agencies never before funded by United Way of Southwest Georgia should complete Steps 1-4 prior to the January 13, 2012 deadline.  United Way will begin accepting Steps 1-4 from new agencies seeking funding on December 1, 2011. 

By January 20, 2012, new agencies that have completed Steps 1-4 will be notified by United Way if they have been approved by the Board of Directors to complete the funding application process. 

Agencies that are approved for Steps 1-4 will then continue the funding application process -- Steps 5-6.  Steps 5-6, are due to United Way by February 10, 2012.  This portion of the agency's funding application will be reviewed by the appropriate United Way Impact Solution Team for a final funding decision. 

Notificaton of the final funding decision will be take place in the April 2012 time frame.  If approved, funding would begin July 1, 2012.

Note: You will also need to submit the following documents: Secretary of State Certification letter; copy of 501 (c) (3); Current list of Board of Directors, including name, address, phone, and position on the board; latest Audit and Management Letter; and signed and completed IRS form 990, 990-PF, or 990EZ for last fiscal year by the January 13, 2012 deadline.
